The much awaited Commonwealth games began with a big opening ceremony in NEw Delhi on 3rd Oct 2010. Each and everyone is excited to know how their respective country or players are doing. The opening day Australia was on top with 6 medals in its kitty.

Austrlaia tops the all time medals tally at the Common wealth games with 1708 total medals won,, Gold 643, Silver 556  and Bronze 509. England and Canada are on 2nd and 3rd place with 579 and 374 medals respectively. Check the all time medal tally.

This is the most expensive Commonwealth games ever. The total budget for the CWG is Indian rupee 11,494 crore (US$2.5 billion), which excludes non-sports-related infrastructure development in the city such as airports, city beautification and roads etc
