Nokia N97 firmware updated – v.22.0.110 Posted: 03 Jul 2010 01:36 AM PDT N97 has received a new firmware update the new firmware update is available via OTA and NSU.The Nokia N97 has been updated to v.22.0.110 there is no official changelog for the update. If the new firmware update is available for your product code, please share your experiences in the comments below. We'll try and keep you updated as soon as we here more. New firmware updates generally contain bug fixes and optimizations necessary for the software on your device to perform properly, therefore we recommend you always keep your device up to date. How To Update The Firmware There are many ways of updating the firmware on your Nokia handset type in *#0000# on the home screen or go to Device Manager. Then select Options, Check for updates and follow the on screen prompts,you can also update your firmware using NSU (Nokia Software Updater) and or Nokia Ovi Suite on your PC. Once you plug your device in, select the PC Suite option, ensuring that the phone has a Sim Card inserted and the profile is set to General. N97 mini supports UDP (User Data Preservation), which will preserve all your data and content on your device during these updates. Having proved the choice of many youngsters not only due to the cool ads but also due to its super plans is slowly pulling back the extra advantages provided by them. Its time to take a look at what Tata Docomo is and what it isnt providing in the market! India’s youngest GSM operator Tata Docomo’s Honeymoon time with Tamilnadu (including Chennai) telecom circle is over. Now here is the sad news for Tata Docomo customers in Tamilnadu circle, It has cut down the validity period of its innovative and super attractive Special Tariff Voucher-36 from 180 Days to just 30 Days. The Tata DoCoMo STV36 enabled its subscribers to make Local and STD call just at 45 paisa per minute as effective call charges for 180 Days (now only 30 Days) from the date of recharge. Tata Docomo has also stopped FREE social networking access or Internet browsing to popular social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Orkut and Nimbuzz under its BuddyNet the CUG plan. BSNL Launches 3G Mobile and Data Services in Gujarat Posted: 02 Jul 2010 08:09 AM PDT India’s National Telecom backbone Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) launched its 3G GSM mobile and High Speed Wireless Internet services (3G Data services) in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujrat Telecom circle. BSNL 3G services was inaugurated by Mr. Satya Pal, Chief General Manager (CGMT), BSNL Gujarat circle in a grand launching ceremony. Speaking on the launch of 3G services in Gujarat, Mr. Satya Pal said BSNL 3G Mobile and High Speed Data Services are now available in state capital GandhiNagar and Ahemdabad city and BSNL would cover 61 cities and towns including all District headquarters across Gujarat by September-2010. The 3G services will provide High quality multimedia features like video calling, high speed Internet browsing up to 3.6 Mbps through Mobile phone/Data Cards (modem) and also subscribers can enjoy Live Mobile TV & VoIP services on 3G Compatible mobile phone. BSNL 2G Prepaid customers of Gujarat can migrate to 3G by recharging with a Special tariff Voucher (STV) of Rs.21 or just send SMS, 'ACT3G' to 53733 following which Rs.21 will deducted from their balance and they will be migrated to 3G for a period of 30 days. These migrated customers can experience Video Calling, High Speed Internet, Mobile TV etc at 3G charges while retaining their 2G Voice Plan. Prepaid subscriber also allow to migrate in 3G Plan-120 by sending SMS ' M3G120 ‘ to ' 53733′. BSNL 2G Postpaid customers in Gujarat have to pay additional Rs.25 only per month to avail 3G services over and above their 2G services. The existing 2G Postpaid customers can also send SMS, 'M3G25' to 53733. They can also approach customer service centers to subscribe 3G services . BSNL also offers high-speed mobile Internet access for PCs and Laptops through the USB Datacard subscription which comes with free all India roaming including Mumbai & Delhi. Convenient 3G data plans ranging from Rs.249 to Rs.2499 are available with both Postpaid & Prepaid options.To give the customers firsthand experience of 3G, Trial Packs have also been launched.
