The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education came into existence in 1969 through an Act No.14 of 1968. Until 1982, the Board had its headquarter at Shimla, which was subsequently shifted to Dharamshala in Kangra District in 1983. The Headquarter of Education Board Dharamshala is located at the foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges of western Himalayas overlooking picturesque Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh.

The Education Board prescribes syllabi, courses of instructions and text books for school education in Himachal Pradesh besides conducting examinations based on such courses. At present, the Board conducts examinations for the 8th,10th, Plus One and Plus Two classes. In addition, departmental examination like J.B.T., T.T.C and P.V.T.C are also being conducted by the Board. As many as 4.5 lac candidates annually appear in the examinations conducted by the Board .
To begin with, the Board had only 34 officials on its establishment which strength has now increased to 438. The first examination was conducted by the Board in 1970 at 99 examination centres. Presently, keeping in view the increased number of candidates and typical geographical conditions of the Pradesh, the Board has set up 1650 Examination centres throughout the State. Apart from a Liaison Office at Shimla, the Board has also established 19 Sale Book Depots/Information Centres in the Pradesh to cater to the needs of students.

Power Grid fpo retail subscription

Power Grid Corporation (PGC) FPO was closed in the second day by and large more subscription of 9.72 times. Although reserved quota in account of retail individual investors was subscribed just 0.61 times. This kind of irregularity can be seen due to absence of indulgent of Power Grid's growth prospects among the retail investors.

Following is the subscription details update:-

Non Institutional Investors 0.16

Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) 0.24

Another day, another Google doodle to enjoy, and this time it's celebrating the 160th birthday of Robert Louis Stevenson.

Stevenson as you'll recall wrote classics such as Treasure Island, the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and Kidnapped in the late 19th century.

The Google doodle remembers the literary great with homage to Treasure Island featuring Long John Silver and his parrot Captain Flint, a nautical compass, a ship, and a pirate's booty (treasure) all on a scroll.

Google regularly feature birthday's or anniversaries by changing the Google logo to fit in with a variety of different elements to tell a story. Recent Google doodles include turning the Google logo into an X-ray to celebrate its 115th anniversary earlier in the month, and celebrating hallowe’en with a series of Scooby Doo Google Doodles.
