Vodafone and BlackBerry Introduces Tele-Medicine Application In India Posted: 04 Jun 2010 02:56 AM PDT India’s leading GSM mobile service operator Vodafone Essar and Research in Motion (RIM) today launched a mobile ECG (electrocardiogram) application dubbed as eUNO R10 for BlackBerry smartphones in association with Maestros Mediline Systems Ltd in Mumbai. The BlackBerry application eUNO R10 allows the user to access patient's ECG and heart performance reports on their BlackBerry phones.It will send the relevant information to the medial records server, which then automatically pushes the ECG report to a Doctor's BlackBerry smartphone over the Vodafone mobile network; this will allow cardiologists to have remote access in real time to patient’s ECG and heart performance reports, and respond quickly with a diagnosis. The Nanavati Hospital of Mumbai is the first hospital in India to adopt the eUNO R 10 application. Speaking on the launch of eUNO R10 in India, Dr. Pavan Kumar, Head of Telemedicine Department, Nanavati Hospital, "A heart attack is a life-threatening event. Knowing the symptoms of heart attack and seeking immediate medical attention is essential to prevent death, while appropriate treatment instituted within the first hour the golden hour can limit the damage to the heart. Offer Prayers Directly To Sai Baba With Airtel’s Shirdi Manokamna Service Posted: 03 Jun 2010 09:49 PM PDT Bharti Airtel has launched Sai Baba Manokamna – which will help Airtel customers to pray to Sai Baba through a simple call on their Airtel mobiles. This facility help subscribers to record prayers to a temple which will be either read out personally by the priest or played on the speakers within 72 hours of calling. To subscribe, customers may simply call 55222 from their Airtel mobile phones and pay a one-time membership fee of Rs. 5 with daily subscription fee of Rs. 2 per shrine only. On calling, the customer after telling his name and the city from which he is calling will be able to speak his prayer which will get recorded and then read out by the priest or played on the speaker placed inside the temple. A customer can make two prayers of 20 seconds each in a single day. Customers will receive a confirmation after the prayers are played in front of the idol. Announcing the launch of the service, Mr. Rajnish Kaul, Chief Operating Officer, Mobile Services – MPCG, Bharti Airtel Ltd said, "Airtel continues to innovate and bridge barriers through technology. With the new 'RC16', over 9.5 lakhs Aircel subscribers in the Mumbai circle will get 100% Talktime value on every top-up recharge. As part of the offer, all Aircel prepaid customers can avail 'RC16' benefits by simply doing a recharge of Rs. 16.
