Samsung Nexus S Officially Launched In India For Rs. 29590 Posted: 27 Apr 2011 05:21 AM PDT Samsung has finally launched its much awaited Google Nexus S Android Smartphone in Indian market for Rs.29590. Android v2.3 OS (Gingerbread) based Nexus S is the successor of Nexus One (HTC Passion) which was released on Jan 5 earlier this year. The Nexus S is coming with most advanced hardware, sporting a 4-inch Super AMOLED display (235 ppi, Capacitive touch sensor and Anti-fingerprint display coating). The display is also curved (what Google and Samsung is calling a "Contour Display) to fit comfortably next to your face. The Nexus S is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor (Hummingbird) and comes with 16GB of on-board flash memory. It has a 5 Mega pixel auto focus camera with flash as well as a front-facing VGA camera for video calls. Other fine adjustments of Nexus S are HSDPA upto 7.2Mbps, HSUPA upto 5.76Mbps, Wifi, WiFi hotspot upto 6 devices, Bluetooh 2.1+ EDR, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack and microUSB along with complete and latest Android support. Interestingly Nexus S will support NFC (near field communication). |
LG Launches Optimus ME P350 – Android 3G Phone for Rs.8999 Posted: 27 Apr 2011 04:34 AM PDT LG Mobiles today announce the launch of 3G enabled Android Smartphone LG Optimus Me (LG P350) for Rs.8999 in India. LG Optimus Me is described as ‘Compact, Glossy, Colourful, Powerful and Reasonable’ and it looks like being a teen or Young Generation friendly budget device. The LG Optimus Me (P350) fatures a 3.2 Mega Pixel camera with auto-focus and video recording (without flash), a 2.8 inch QVGA display, A-GPS, E-compass, Pinch to Zoom, a 600 MHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 155 MB internal memory, along with a 32 GB microSD card support for media storage. The Andorid 2.2 (Froyo) OS Based Optimus Me equipped with Bluetooth, GPS, 3G/HSDPA (3.2 Mbps), USB, WiFi support, 1280mAh Battery which offers a talk time of approximately 7 hours. It comes with Live mobile TV (NDTV Active) and some more pre-loaded apps. PayMate Launches Pilot Run For Rural Financial Services Posted: 27 Apr 2011 04:08 AM PDT Paymate today announced the launch of multiple financial inclusion projects through Kshetriya Gramin Financial Services entities. As a part of this initiative, the company has unveiled a mobile phone based person-to-person money transfer initiative in the Delhi to Uttarakhand corridor as well as piloted a micro-loan repayments in villages in Ganjam, Orissa. Using a combination of a float model and mobile equipped agents, registered agents of Dhanei KGFS located at remote villages are able to visit the customer to collect payment in cash while using a mobile phone to register the payment against the customer's unique account ID via SMS. The solution comes equipped with a real time dynamic MIS for Dhanei KGFS to check all the payments and filter it by agent, customer, date and transaction and even download it for future reference. |
Tata Communications Opens Its International Gateway In Sri Lanka Posted: 27 Apr 2011 03:51 AM PDT TATA Communications Lanka Ltd today inaugurated its second International Gateway in Sri Lanka at the emerging IT Park, Orion City. The new gateway was inaugurated by the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Mr. Ashok K. Kantha, in the presence of distinguished guests and other delegates. Mr. Anusha Palpita, Director General, TRCSL, made the first formal IDD call through the new International Gateway to the Group CEO and MD of TATA Communications Limited, Mr. Vinod Kumar. Strengthening its seven-year presence in the country, the new facility will further strengthen the reliability and stability of its services to both operators and enterprise customers. The second International Gateway is a part of a strategy to offer cutting-edge IP-leveraged solutions enabled by the company's superior global infrastructure and leadership in emerging markets. Enterprise solutions, as well as wholesale voice solutions and carrier services, which are currently routed through the primary POP, shall be offered from the new gateway. Hereafter, some of these services would be routed partially or completely through the new POP, if required, as a redundant measure. |
Nokia Siemens Networks Demonstrate e-Education Initiative Over LTE Posted: 26 Apr 2011 11:45 PM PDT Nokia Siemens Networks have demonstrated the extended benefits of Long Term Evolution (LTE) in the 800 MHz spectrum as a means of reaching out to students in far-flung, rural schools. The Flying Classroom initiative is the brainchild of Nokia Siemens Networks' Corporate Social Responsibility program, enabling students to take part in video calls and share education tasks remotely with teachers and partner schools. LTE technology uses a flat, IP-based network infrastructure to offer ultra-fast data transmission and makes instant browsing and downloads possible and also reduce the latency. |
